Motability at Saltmarine Mazda

Motability provides thousands of people in Northern Ireland with a brand car every 3 years in exchange for their mobility allowance. With Motability everything is taken care of including insurance, maintenance, RAC breakdown recovery, servicing, tyres and windscreens at no extra cost. You can insure up to three drivers and you don't need to be able to drive yourself to qualify.

Are you eligible?

Anyone who receives the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance, the Higher Rate of the Mobility Part of Personal Independence Payment, the Armed Forces Independence Payment or the War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement, can exchange this weekly payment to lease a new car through Motability.

Please note only the Mobility element of your allowance is exchanged for a car, NOT your whole allowance.

How much does it cost?

Some models are available at less or no more than the cost of the weekly allowance, these cars are advertised as £Nil Advance Payment. While other more expensive models require an additional payment (known as an Advance Payment) to cover the cost of the lease. This is set by Motability and is a one off payment only.

Do you need adaptions?

Adaptations make our vehicles easier to use and more comfortable. Many adaptions are available at no additional cost, as long as they’re fitted at the start of your lease. Talk to us about your requirements and we will be happy to assist. 

The Motability Scheme includes...

A standard lease lasts three years, or five years if you are leasing a wheelchair accessible vehicle. We take care of all the below running costs, so all you need to do is add fuel and go:

✓ Insurance for up to three drivers
✓ Servicing, maintenance and repairs
✓ Breakdown cover
✓ Tyre repair and replacement
✓ Windscreen repairs

Did you know?

The recipient of the Motability car does not need to be able to drive however the car must be used for the benefit of the disabled person. This does not mean that the disabled person needs to be in the car for every journey. In practice, this means other named drivers in the household can use the car for shopping and other routine activities, as long as the disabled person will benefit.
